When will the upgrade occur?

The weekend of April 26-27. Meeting Maker will be unavailable from 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25th, through 6 a.m., Monday, April 28th.

What can I do to prepare for the upgrade?

  • Know your meeting maker password. If you do not know it or have it auto-saved, call AHC-IS at 6-5100 to reset it, preferably before the upgrade occurs.

  • Handheld users should perform a final sync prior to Friday, April 25th, at 5:00

  • If you plan to use the wireless syncing after the upgrade, you can send an email to ahc-is@umn.edu with their Name, Dept., Phone, Device Type, MM User name, server, and CUFS number (object code 7330).

Will my information still sync with my handheld device?

No, do not try to sync with your current syncing software (i.e. ActiveSync, Intellisync, Hotsync).
You will need to first download new software depending on your device type.

Will data from the past disappear?

Information prior to November 2006 will not transfer into the upgraded system.
To retain information prior to November 2006, you must export your calendar before the upgrade occurs.
For instructions, visit: http://mm.ahc.umn.edu/export.html

What new features are available?

  • Web access. Now you can access your calendar wherever you have an internet connection at http://mm.ahc.umn.edu. Note: You will need to know which server you are on. To look it up, visit the Web page and click on “Look up your Meeting Maker server.”

  • Ability to email guests

  • Ical Compatibility

What main functions will change?

  • Any proxy you had prior to the upgrade will remain, however, users will have to add them to their drop down list. From the “Proxy” option on the file menu bar, select “Edit Favorite proxies” and add the users you want to see them in the drop down menu.

  • Because there are more colors available in the upgrade, some existing meeting colors may change. Users will note that meetings that previously were one color may transfer to a different color once the upgrade occurs. If you change a label color, it will apply to all meetings that have that label. i.e. you don’t need to change each individual meeting.

  • If you click on a meeting and go to the "Guest" tab, you need to click on the “Edit List” button to view the regular list of all users.

  • Users can now create recurring banners. Upgrade Note: Current banners that stretch over several days will be separated to show on each day after the upgrade. You can re-create them to stretch over several days.
